Electro-Voice presented the next generation of the EVF and EVH point-source loudspeakers at ISE in Barcelona, introducing two redesigned series for short- to medium-throw indoor and outdoor installed sound. First launched in 2008, the front-loaded EVF Series and the horn-loaded EVH Series have become two of the most widely installed Electro-Voice point-source solutions, with over 50,000 units in service worldwide across stadiums, arenas, performing arts centers, theaters, houses of worship, and multi-purpose venues.
Electro-Voice launches next generation of EVF and EVH Series point-source loudspeakers for fixed installation
Electro-Voice introduced four next-generation EVF and EVH Series point-source loudspeakers globally at ISE in Barcelona — comprehensively redesigned for higher output, improved pattern control, and a simpler model lineup at a more accessible price point.
Drawing on nearly two decades of real-world customer feedback, Electro-Voice engineers reworked both series from the inside out. The cabinet dimensions remain unchanged for full compatibility with existing designs and mounting hardware — everything inside the enclosure has been redesigned. The result is four new models offering higher acoustic output, improved pattern control, and a simpler selection process at a more accessible price point.
A fully redesigned acoustic platform
Every component in the EVF and EVH Series is new. Each model uses newly developed Electro-Voice transducers, including the next-generation ND2-EVO 2-inch compression driver and model-specific DSCA low-frequency drivers, with a new low-loss crossover for higher efficiency and more consistent performance across the frequency range.
Building on Electro-Voice's Constant Directivity technology, new Infinite Directivity HF waveguides deliver the most uniform pattern control Electro-Voice has achieved in this class, while slightly lower tuning and increased woofer excursion add usable full-range output and low-frequency headroom. The EVF Series ships in five coverage patterns — 60°x40°, 60°x60°, 90°x50°, 90°x90°, and 120°x60° — and the EVH Series in five patterns: 40°x30°, 60°x40°, 60°x60°, 90°x50°, and 90°x90°. All models are offered in black and white finishes and in indoor and outdoor versions, and are matched to the IX Series power amplifiers from Dynacord, Electro-Voice's sibling brand, as well as the full range of Dynacord DSP amplifiers and the new V Series Zone Audio Platform.
Designed for long-term durability and ease of installation
Mechanical construction and environmental protection were enhanced across both lines. All models feature full-width internal metal bracing for rigidity and long-term safety in demanding outdoor installations, and are fully front-serviceable for simplified maintenance. A new paint process delivers Electro-Voice's best-ever UV resistance in both finishes, and full-coverage weatherization brings robust moisture rejection at a substantial cost reduction for fully weatherized (FW) models compared to the previous generation.
Redesigned input panels add removable connectors, an integrated NL4 connector, and a high-current passive/bi-amp switch, with gland-nut covers now standard on all models. Expanded omni-mounting options support both Electro-Voice accessories and third-party mounting solutions.
EVF Series: front-loaded flexibility
The new EVF Series comprises three models — the EVF-12 and EVF-15 two-way front-loaded loudspeakers and the EVF-215S dual 15-inch subwoofer. The two-way models deliver higher maximum SPL than most first-generation models, improved low-frequency output, and closer sonic matching between the EVF-12 and EVF-15. The EVF-12 introduces an improved 120x60 degree horn pattern for uniform performance across a wide area, and both full-range models support a wider range of mounting solutions, including the EVC-WB wall bracket and common omni-mount and multi-mount systems.
The EVF-215S subwoofer uses new DSCA-family woofers and processing presets that deliver up to 3 dB more output at 40 Hz compared to the existing generation. Larger triangular ports improve airflow and reduce turbulence at high output, and a dual-mode impedance switch allows operation in either single 4-ohm or dual 8-ohm configurations.
EVH Series: horn-loaded precision
The next-generation EVH Series is represented by the EVH-15, a horn-loaded two-way loudspeaker built for precise pattern control and high output over longer throw distances. Compared to the previous generation, it delivers increased maximum SPL on most models, improved low-frequency performance, and significantly enhanced directivity consistency. Combined with the redesigned acoustic components and next-generation Hybrid-FIR processing, the EVH-15 is designed for controlled coverage in acoustically challenging environments.
The new EVF and EVH Series loudspeakers will be available globally starting in Spring 2026.
