Electro-Voice has launched the EVERSE 12, a battery-powered portable loudspeaker for professional audio applications. It expands the EVERSE line introduced with the EVERSE 8 in late 2022, moving the range to a larger 12-inch, two-way format.
The EVERSE 12 reaches a maximum SPL of 126 dB — a 5 dB increase over the EVERSE 8's 121 dB. Low-frequency response extends to 45 Hz, with a coverage pattern of 100 degrees by 60 degrees.
Battery performance and components
The custom Li-ion battery pack delivers 12+ hours of runtime at an average SPL of 100 dB with typical program material, or 6+ hours at maximum output before limit indication. The pack includes protection circuitry and supports tool-free removal.
A titanium-diaphragm compression driver is coupled to a patented SST (Signal Synchronized Transducers) ported waveguide. A high-efficiency 400W Class-D amplifier powered by Dynacord drives the system, paired with a DSP module.
Control and connectivity
The QuickSmart App provides wireless control of audio, effects, and mixing. Users can pair and group up to six Bluetooth-equipped EV portable speakers, and the unit supports true wireless stereo streaming. A four-channel digital mixer adds studio-quality effects, 48V phantom power, feedback suppression, and audio ducking.
Design and durability
The EVERSE 12 carries an IP43 rating for water resistance during battery-powered Bluetooth streaming. A rugged polypropylene enclosure, an ergonomic handle, and no-skid rubber feet support durability and portability, and optional accessories include a rain cover and a duffel bag.
