The venue
A room that was never built for amplified sound
Holy Trinity with a history dating back over 800 years runs on its acoustics, centuries of stone that lift a choir and blur a sentence in the same breath. Services, spoken word, contemporary worship with a full band, and special events require different sound qualities.
The old 100 V sound system had reached the end of its life. It could not carry both speech and music, and it could also not reach the separate spaces where the congregation gathers.

The challenge
Beating reflections and serving several sound needs without touching the architecture
The brief was clear and unforgiving. One system had to handle a spoken service and a full band with equal clarity, treat side chapels and overflow spaces as their own zones, and stay invisible inside a listed church. The room's reverberation punished anything that chose to be loud instead of clear.
The solution
A fully IP-networked solution with precise coverage and simple control options
Reverberation was tackled at the source: the Electro-Voice EVC-1082 loudspeakers are available in different dispersion pattern variants, allowing the team to pick the best models to direct sound precisely at the audience and away from the reflective stone surfaces, minimizing acoustic buildup in the nave. Narrow 90°×60° units handle the longer throw down the nave, while wider 100°×100° variants cover the side aisles evenly. In the chancel and choir stalls, LRC-1100 line radiator column speakers control vertical dispersion naturally, keeping energy focused and off the ceiling. Their slim profile blends seamlessly with the historic woodwork. An ELX200 subwoofer adds low-frequency support whenever live music demands it.
Three Dynacord IX Series networked DSP amplifiers drive the system over Dante audio, feeding both the amps' built-in mixer and an external sound desk, allowing the church flexible control for day-to-day use and more complex live events alike. With the help of SONICUE Sound System Software, a customized TPC-1 touch panel interface was created, allowing staff and volunteers to mute individual zones and recall presets with a single press of a button.
