Naimuang Station in Chai Nat, Thailand, is a leading regional restaurant with a reputation built on live music. By day the room serves diners with background music. By night it becomes a live venue with full shows on stage.

The restaurant's management was determined to elevate the audio experience to match. Sound quality was only the start: coverage had to stay controlled, keeping output contained in the venue and minimizing noise pollution into neighboring properties. The system also needed to sound great at lower volumes for daytime guests, and be reliable and easy for the staff to manage.

The challenge

Cover the room, spare the neighbors

The brief asked for more than volume. The new system had to deliver professional sound quality in a compact format, keep its output contained inside the venue to minimize noise reaching neighboring properties, and still sound great at lower levels for daytime guests.

It also had to work as one rig for two very different jobs: background music for diners during the day, and full live sound for shows at night, all reliable and easy for restaurant staff to manage.

The solution

Compact EKX and ZLX loudspeakers, Dynacord power and processing

The main PA pairs 4 passive Electro-Voice EKX-15 and 4 EKX-12 full-range loudspeakers covering the dining and audience area, with 4 EKX-18 subwoofers adding low-frequency support. 4 powered ZLX-12BT boxes serve as stage monitors. Both series feature Signal Synchronized Transducers (SST) technology, which allows a more compact enclosure, helps time-align the low- and high-frequency drivers, and fits a larger waveguide and port inside the box for enhanced pattern control and bass response.

Power and processing come from Dynacord L Series DSP amplifiers, designed for live and mobile applications: 3 L3600FD (2x 1800 W) and 2 L2800FD (2x 1400 W). Dynacord's remote control software lets Naimuang Station wirelessly manage and monitor settings such as volume and EQ without additional speaker processing, setting background music levels for daytime diners and higher output for live shows at night.
