The venue
A resort built around entertainment
Liberty Fabay Hotel sits on Turkey's southwestern Turquoise Coast, a recently opened five-star resort with 553 rooms and the Mediterranean at its doorstep. Keeping guests entertained is central to the hotel's vision, and its venues run from an outdoor performance stage to a pier stretching into the sea.
Atempo, the local Electro-Voice and Dynacord partner, was brought in to meet the complex's audio, visual, and lighting needs. Every area asked a different question of the sound system, and the team looked to the breadth of the Electro-Voice portfolio for an answer to each.

The challenge
Powerful sound outside, contained sound inside
The outdoor performance area is the hub of the hotel's live entertainment, with a stage that caters to all types of productions and an audience area that needs powerful, versatile coverage. Around the outdoor swimming pool, an animated show calls for smooth, even sound. Inside, the nightclub demands precise and consistent coverage.
The hardest constraint sat directly above the dance floor: the floors over the nightclub are guest accommodation. The sound had to stay in the club.
The solution
One portfolio, matched to every venue
For the stage, Atempo specified the Electro-Voice X1 line array: 2 hangs of 4 flown cabinets per side, with X12-128 dual-18" subwoofers under the stage for low-end reinforcement. The compact 12" two-way line array delivers the wide bandwidth and the vertical and horizontal directivity control the audience area requires. Dynacord TGX power amplifiers drive the system, and SONICUE Sound System Software provides the control.
Around the pool, 8 Electro-Voice ZX5 cabinets hang in pairs from specially constructed covered pylons, driven by 2 Dynacord L2800 amplifiers. In the nightclub, 12 ELX200 cabinets, 4 each of the passive 15", 10", and 18" subwoofer models, run on 3 L Series amplifiers, chosen as the best price-to-performance option in their class.

The result
The demos won over management, the guests confirmed it
After the installation, Atempo ran a series of demonstrations for the hotel management and several rental companies in the area, and the feedback was strong. More telling, positive comments came from the hotel guests themselves.
In the nightclub, homogenous sound distribution and clarity keep the music balanced on the dance floor and out of the rooms above. Konuralp reports a great outcome across the 553-room complex, with no difficulties along the way.
