Two years of rehearsing on a karaoke machine
Lombardy plays rock and roll for the people, and for the last couple of years they did it while rehearsing through a college karaoke machine — a rig that wouldn't let them hear each other. For a band whose whole goal is how connected the crowd feels, not hearing yourself on stage is the thing that quietly pulls a set apart
Hear each other, travel light, own the room
Going into the album-release show, three things had to be true at once: the band had to hear each other clearly on stage, the whole rig had to be light enough to move themselves, and it had to carry the room on their biggest night. As a loud rock band, they were used to squinting to find the distance sonically — and this was the night that couldn't happen.
An EVIVA rig light enough to fit in the car
The EVIVA system gave Lombardy stage monitors and PA light enough for one person to load in — three monitors and speakers, plus all their instruments, in a single car. On stage, everything cut through clearly, down to the intricacies and nuances they could never pick out before.
An album release show with 20/20 vision
The proof came at the album release show. A loud rock band that used to squint to find the distance sonically walked in with no worries about how the night would roll out technically, and played it with 20/20 vision. The goal since day one now carries every show: a crowd that feels connected to the music, having as much fun as the band on stage.
