A small room with no room for compromise
One of Minneapolis’ most iconic small venues. The room did not need to be louder — it needed clearer coverage, better control, and a system that matched the intensity of live music in a 250-capacity space.

A room that was never built for amplified sound
7th Street Entry is a compact, high-energy venue where the audience is close to the stage from every position in the room.
That intimacy is what makes the venue special. It also makes sound design difficult. Coverage, sightlines, feedback control, and system tuning all matter more when there is no distance between performer, PA, and audience.
The old system was holding the room back
The previous PA had uneven coverage, inconsistent speaker angles, and phase issues that made the system difficult to mix.
Engineers often had to treat the room as mono because there was no reliable stereo image. The larger cabinets also affected sightlines near the stage, and system adjustments required walking back to the amplifier rack.
For a venue running shows almost every night, those issues added up quickly.
A complete EV + Dynacord system
Electro-Voice and Dynacord delivered a full system built around EVF G2 loudspeakers and Dynacord iX amplifiers.
The smaller EVF G2 footprint improved sightlines. The new coverage pattern gave engineers more consistent sound across the room. Dynacord amplification, DSP, and SONICUE control made the full system easier to tune, monitor, and operate from FOH.
Clearer sound, better control, stronger shows
The new system gives 7th Street Entry the power expected from a rock venue, with the clarity and control engineers need every night.
The room now has consistent coverage, improved stereo imaging, cleaner vocals, stronger low-end impact, and easier system control.
