Pullman City Western Theme Park, Germany

Where the Wild West meets modern audio

Pullman City is Bavaria's iconic Western theme park, a living Wild West town that draws visitors indoors and out. Sound has to carry across the whole site without a weak spot or a dropped word. After a devastating fire in 2024, Pullman City Adventure Park in Bavaria seized the opportunity to completely rebuild its AV infrastructure from the ground up.

The venue

A Western world, rising from the ashes

Opened in 1997, Pullman City Adventure Park has built its reputation as a living Western town , a 200,000 m² destination in the Bavarian Forest that transports visitors to an iconic, bygone era through authentic scenery and spectacular live shows. When a fire caused extensive damage in 2024, the park was temporarily closed. Rather than simply restoring what existed, the operators made a bold decision: rebuild and reimagine the entire audio infrastructure from scratch, creating a system worthy of the park’s reputation and ready for the next chapter. Buildings, open streets, indoor venues, and outdoor stages all need sound, and all of it has to stay consistent as crowds move across the site.

The challenge

A new distributed sound system for 200, 000 square meters with simple control

With the fire leaving the previous sound system completely beyond salvage, the project team at Graffiti-Club faced a blank slate and a tight deadline.

A theme park spread across indoor and outdoor spaces needs coverage that holds up across every zone, electronics that scale as the site grows, and control that a member of staff can pick up without training. The new system had to serve a wide variety of spaces under one roof: from atmospheric street environments and busy restaurants to high-performance live music venues and outdoor stages, each with very different audio requirements. On top of that, the solution needed to be robust enough to perform reliably year-round regardless of weather conditions.

  • Coverage across indoor and outdoor areas

  • Consistent sound from one zone to the next

  • A system that scales with the park

  • Networked control of audio and peripheral devices

  • Operation simple enough for park staff

The solution

One networked system, scaled to the whole park

More than 100 Electro-Voice loudspeakers carry the load, delivering consistent, powerful coverage indoors and outdoors. The backbone is five Dynacord MXE5-64 Matrix Mix Engines running on a Dante network, handling all routing, signal distribution and volume control across every zone. SONICUE Sound System Software combined with TPC-1 touch panel controllers gives operators intuitive, centralized control over audio, projectors, curtains and screens — from a single, customized interface.

Power is delivered by IPX 10:8, IPX 10:4 and IX 60:8 amplifiers alongside V and C Series models, matched to the loudspeaker requirements of each individual area. For audio output, Electro-Voice EVA, EVC and EVID loudspeakers were specified throughout the park. Restaurants rely on EVC and EVID enclosures for musical sound quality, while Main Street is covered by more than 80 EVID and EVC units — including EVID 5.2 XB and EVID 10.2 S for the street-level sound field, reinforced by EVC 1152-95 and EVC 1181S cabinets for even coverage. For the Music Hall, Riding Arena and Karl May stage, an EVA line array system was installed to deliver the foreground sound quality required for live performances in the 600-capacity venue.

The result

Consistent, powerful sound across the whole site

The result is a large, scalable sound system with simple control that holds even coverage across the entire site. Sonic precision was the reason for the choice, and the system delivers it across every corner of the park: the entire audio infrastructure meets the demanding requirements of each individual space, from the ambient atmosphere of Main Street to the high-output demands of the Music Hall. Seamless zone coverage, and reliable performance in all weather conditions.

Control stays in one place. SONICUE Sound System Software and the TPC-1 networked touch panels let staff operate the sound and its peripheral devices without specialist knowledge, and the system can grow as the park does.

  • Consistent coverage indoors and outdoors

  • Full IP-based Dante audio network

  • Weather-resistant outdoor performance

  • Zone-specific sound EQing and tuning

  • Centralized control through SONICUE

  • Simple touch panel operation for staff via customized GUIs
